My classmate's name is Darlene Raquedan. Darlene is a 19 year old college student; she just graduated from Channel Islands High School this past year. Darlene's family consists of four family members, including herself; one younger brother, one younger sister, and her mother. This four member family lives in an apartment.
Becoming a nurse is Darlene's dream; furthermore, she is also interested in theaters arts. She is doing what she can to reach her goal; her first step was attending college. The parents' motivation helped her want to better herself. Also, Darlene has this passion to succeed. Becoming a someone, and making a difference is what she is really looking forward to.
Darlene's life can sometimes get a little hectic. Because her parents are not currently living together, it makes it harder for her. Struggling with coming back and forward with the parents sometimes can get frustrating. Because she lives with her mother, it affects Darlene even more; furthermore, she often has to step up and take the mother role. Besides taking the mother role, she feels that its important for her to set a great example to her younger siblings.

Texting
Is texting a habit or a necessity? For many people now a days, texting is a must. Most if not all portable devices, contain some sort of texting communication. Cell phone companies are currently developing new advanced cells that attract the buyers; furthermore, people like me, want to keep up with the improved technologies, and the variety of communication possibilities.
Talking over the phone is not often seen; in the other hand, you will see everyone with their texting phone typing. Its easier for us to text what we want to say rather than calling, and actually saying what you can write over a text. Texting is also a necessity because it can be done in matter of seconds. Sending a text can not really distract you, and can keep doing what you are doing. Not only teens use the application of text messaging, but adults also use this application. I would say that adults use their texting as much as teens but for different reasons; furthermore, teens text friends, and adults text regarding their business life. Texting is also a great necessity for most because the affordable range; furthermore, its cheap to get unlimited texted at a low cost: unlimited text messaging is cheaper than unlimited minutes.
Texting is not a new trend because it has been the new thing for quite some time already. Texting has become a great part of our lives; consequently, we rely on this application a lot more than needed.

Reality Shows
Our century is based on reality shows; furthermore, we the viewers, are more attracted to drama related shows rather fictional shows. Because the viewers are getting more hooked to these reality shows, there are more realistic shows premiering like Teen Mom.
What I like about these shows is that everything we see, we can relate in at least one way. Some reality shows help us get through tough situations or even experience new things. I also like how nothing about them is made up. Everything said and done is real; there is no acting involved. In the past, it was not often that we seen ordinary people with ordinary problems. Before there was the upgrade to reality, there was the insecurity of letting lose of those owns problems, and emotions.
There are few things i dislike about reality shows. The one thing that bothers me the most is that, in some reality shows they over do it with the drama. I believe its okay to be yourself but there are times a person has to control their actions. For example, Jersey Shore, its a very popular show but not for their good behavior. This specific reality show is a top rated show because of their crazy actions, and dramatic scenes. Shows like these are not leaving anything good for the young. Too many fights and drinking for some kids to handle. In a way it seems like they are giving bad examples to all the viewers. Even though the people from the reality shows are not famous actors, most of the viewers tend to idolize them.
Deciding wether this type of shows benefit or harm our society is quite a difficult question. The answers to this question can be endless from both point of views. Personally, I think that these types of shows both benefit and harm our society. The beneficiary sides to this question is that we get too see what is going on, ability to relate, and knowledge. The ability to see what is around us help us warn ourselves about risks out there in the world. Reality shows have the same problems that a normal person has; furthermore, we get to relate to people or situations out of the family. These shows also build a strong knowledge to the viewers. Things being said and done are always a new type of knowledge in some sort of way to a person. But reality also brings unnecessary drama, violence, and idolization. Some people pretend to be what they are not, and just bring too much drama. Sometimes unnecessary drama is not needed. Mostly all reality shows show some type of violence; furthermore, it gets too graphic at times, and it makes you think how they have the courage to show that on national television. This graphic violent actions make viewers idolize them; they idolize someone that in their point of view are doing the right things.
I would say that reality shows are not quite my guilty pleasure. I do like reality shows but i do not watch television that often; on the other hand, I can say that Facebook is my guilty pleasure.
